Why do we need the Rezzos?
We need them for all sorts of good community stuff, but mostly we are here to look after the Mt Nebo hall.
Doesn’t Council do that?
NO! The hall is owned by the community. That’s you and me, Mountain folk!
Say what???
Yep, as a not for profit organisation, the Rezzos have to raise funds to keep the hall running. We do this by holding events like pub night, putting on concerts, hiring out for private use etc.
You have great infrastructure at the hall though, how come?
We have had great success getting grants from a range of funding organisations so we apply wherever and whenever we can. This has enabled us to build a deck, get solar panels, install a generator and even support big events like Small Halls and Mountain Sounds, and so much more!
Who organises and holds events?
Anyone can organise an event or activity they think would be appreciated by the community! Music Club is a great example of this (thanks Pat Connor and others who make this a great success!).
What does the committee do?
Management Committee (mancom) is the primary driver and decision maker for the running of the hall.
It comprises the President, Vice President, Secretary, Treasurer plus one other.
What are subcommittees?
These could be a small group who meet occasionally to plan music events for the year, hold weekend family events or organise working bees for keeping the weeds in check. Since covid we haven’t had any special interest groups but let’s get back out there people! Come along with your ideas for events.
